Aldo Ferrucci is one
of the major professional international experts using closed-circuit and semi rebreathers for SCUBA diving. He instructs, trains, leads
and participates in underwater diving and exploration of deep seas, wrecks and
caves. Nationality:
Italian
Aldo Ferrucci started diving
in 1976 in
He later proceeded to rebreather diving in 1996, in
the same year he started up his own technical diving school in
He became TDI Instructor trainer in 1997 and since 2003 he' s been the regional
manager for TDI & SDI for
Aldo also alongside teaching dives deep wrecks and since 2000 he has organized
diving expeditions all over the world with his ' Xpedition
Team' including the first Italian Andrea Doria
Expedition. From 2002 onwards Aldo has also focused his professional activities
on testing and teaching SCR and CCR rebreathers.
Aldo Ferrucci was born in Livorno
In 1994 he attended a course in diving Nitrox
mixtures other than air which becomes his main professional focus with first
courses and semi-closed rebreather. Assumes the
status of rebreather Instructor Trainer of the most
popular on the international market, and specializes and contributes to
innovation in this area which makes Aldo Ferrucci one
of the major international experts using the closed-circuit rebreathers
and semi rebreathers.
He attended classes with the world' s leading experts in technical diving and
becomes in turn Trimix Instructor Trainer of the
major international educational agencies.
The gas mixtures together with the passion for wreck diving led him to perform
on the main dive sites in the world, organizing and participating in person in
several diving expeditions including the considered as "Mt. Everest of diving" Andrea Doria Shipwreck: "Andrea Doria",
"Viminale", "Dornier 24",
"Leopoldville". "Pietro Micca" "Rosalie Moller",
"Scapa Flow", "Benghazi", "San Marco",
"Proteus", "Natal", etc.

as of 2004 he receives the assignment of responsibility
for Technical Diving of the French National Association Underwater Instructors.

BRIEF TECHNICAL BACKGROUND TO UNDERWATER SCUBA
DIVING :
(for more details on international organisations and certifications on my other
webpages)
Starting with Leonardo da Vinci - culminating in Nitrox-Trimix ! :
Leonardo da Vinci in the 15th century
(1452-1519). designed the first underwater breathing
apparatus - improved on in the 19th century 1825 when an aqualung for
compressed air was outlined by the English engineer, William James. Additional
designs by Emile Gagnon and Jacques Cousteau in the 20th century 1943.
The first known systematic use of rebreathers for
diving was by Italian sport spearfishers in the
1930s. 1940s US Navy rebreathers were developed by
Dr. Christian J. Lambertsen "the father of
Frogmen"
BENEFITS OF MODERN REBREATHER SYSTEMS:
With previous compressed air dive open circuit equipment used for recreational
diving, bubbles of air resulted spoiling visibility and disturbing surrounding
fishes and fauna.
Length and depth of dives affected by type of gas supply used, compressed air
typical of Open Circuit allow less depth and diving time than closed circuit
systems. Approximately
Open Circuit 40 minutes to 1 hour
Semi Circuit 1 to 2 hours,
Close Circuit 3 to 6 hours.
With REBREATHER technology dives can be deeper
longer and lighter.
NITROX-TRIMIX mixture is considered the best healthiest gas in SCUBA
diving. It was previously used by only specialist and military divers but is
now available at comparatively equal or competitive prices as compared to the
more open circuit breathing gases previously used by recreational divers.
Types
of Rebreathers:
CCR : Inspiration,
Evolution, Megalodon, Copis,
Kiss, rEvo, Ouroboros and
Sentinel.
SCR : Dolphin, Azimuth, Submatix and UBS 40
